All the single ladies!

We're fast approaching the pointy end of the season and OPBC is in the midst of deciding the final championship of the year with the mens and ladies club singles championships commencing last Sunday.

Let's take a gander at some of the ladies results from the weekend and who will play who next. Don't panic...I'll get to the mens next time :)

Section 1 saw Julie-Anne Summers triumph over Janet Matthews and Pam Chalmers.

Julie-Anne was on nothing short of a mission. It was great to see her play with such intensity and focus!

Section 2 was won by Hailey Adams over Nolene Mudge and Amanda Masters.

Nolene was my favorite in this section...why? Because she was out there in the thick of it and gave herself a chance. Totally needs to be more of this kind of attitude!

Section 3 was taken out by Julie Savell over Kaitlin Tyrrell and Catherine Farrell.

I'm a little bias with this one...I was proud of the come-back effort Kailtin put in against Julie. She well and truly had a chance of taking this section out. But Julie to her credit kept herself in it and took out the match and then followed that performance with a good win over her mate Catherine,

Section 4 saw Shann Saunders progress over Lina Evans and Joyce Caffell.

Got to admit I didn't see a lot of this game as it was at the far end of the green...but I did hear a lot. Lots and lots of chatter (maybe not as much as you'd hear at a mens manning premier game, but close) and that's probably what caused the three wrong bias'.

It was great to see some of the newer bowlers getting in on the action. Its always a pleasure to see people give themselves a chance...and why wouldn't you want a piece of prestigious singles silverware to your name!

One semi final will see last year's winner and runner-up face off. Hailey is going for a three-peat and Julie-Anne is keen to get herself into a back-to-back finals appearance. The other semi sees Julie taken on Shann. Julie finished runner-up the year before last and will be hoping to go one better this year.

And I guess while we are on the topic of ladies singles...Mosman Park host the ladies Masters Singles this week with play commencing Friday 23 February. Five OPBC ladies will be in action: Jaewyn Norton, Julie Savell, Jenny Alexander, Pam Chalmers and Hailey Adams.

Good luck all!!!
